Mission & Beliefs

OUR STORY

The Redeemed Christian Church of God popularly known as (RCCG) started in 1952 through the vision God gave to the founder Late Pa Josiah O. Akindayomi. The Lord made three great promises to the mission:

  • That He would meet the church on His return
  • That the church will be a model for other churches
  • That other church would come and learn to worship God at RCCG.

When the founder passed on to Glory, the leadership of the church fell on the present general overseer Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye in March 1981.

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Living Spring International Morgantown Parish was established in 2007. We are mandated by the Holy Spirit to reach out to students, professionals, and families in our community. Our location at the heart of West Virginia University in Morgantown puts us in a strategic place to fulfill God’s vision. We are a church without borders and full of love that believes that wherever God is, anything is possible! Just one word from God can change your life forever.

We welcome you to join us, especially if you are in the area and looking for a place to fellowship. Look forward to seeing you!!!

  • - Our Vision Statements
  • - We Believe In

As received by the General Overseer (G.O.), Pastor E. A. Adeboye, and communicated to the Headquarters leaders, our vision and mission statement shall remain intact, with a qualifying addendum in view of the peculiarity of the demography in the North American region. They are as follows:

  1. To Make Heaven.
  2. To Take As Many People With Us.
  3. To Have a Member of RCCG In Every Family Of All Nations.
  4. To Accomplish No. 1 Above, Holiness Will Be Our Lifestyle.

To accomplish No. 2 and 3 above, we will plant churches within five minutes walking distance in every city and town of developing countries and within five minutes driving distance in every city and town of developed countries. We will pursue these objectives until every Nation in the world is reached for the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • The Divine inspiration of the Bible and as the infallible Word of God, II Tim.3:16-17.
  • The Divine Trinity consists of three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, Matthew 3:16-17; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Hebrews 9:14; 1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 5:7.
  • That every man needs Salvation: we must acknowledge our sins and repent from them; we must believe that Christ died for us, and rose again; we must receive the risen Christ as our personal Savior, and we must publicly confess Him as our Lord, Hebrews 9:29; Romans 3:10, 23; Acts 3:19; Romans 10:8-13; Jude 3:24.
  • Perfection is a spiritual growth for those who have been sanctified (to be apart from sin) and consecrated (to be conformed to His holiness, purity, and perfection of character). Perfection and true holiness are impossible without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. All attempts at achieving perfection without the Holy Spirit generally results in frustration and failure, inasmuch as “flesh” cannot crucify

flesh, 1 Peter 2:21-22; 1 Peter 1:15; John 3:8-9; Matthew 5:48.

  • In the Baptism of the Holy Ghost for all believers who are living sanctified lives and that it is evidenced by the speaking in tongues as the Spirit gives utterances, Joel 2:28, Luke 3:16, Acts 2:38-39, Acts 19:2, Mark 16:17.
  • That Divine Healing of sickness for all believers is provided through the atonement, Luke 13:11,16; 2 Corinthians 1:19-20; 1 John 3:8; Mark 16:17-18.
  • The second coming of Jesus and the Rapture of the church, 1 Thessalonians 4: 13 -18; 1 Corinthians 15:23, 51-58; Phil 3:2-21; 1 John 3:1-3; Luke 21:31-35.
  • That Tribulation will occur between Christ’s second coming for his bride and His return in Judgment, Daniel 9:24-27; Isaiah 61:2; 1 Thessalonians 1:10; Revelation 3:10.
  • In the 1000-year reign of Jesus Christ on earth, Rev. 20:1-3.
  • The Great White Throne Judgment as the final judgment when all the wicked will stand before God. Revelation 20:11-15.
  • The new heaven and new earth will replace the current heaven and earth, Revelation 21:1-5.
  • In Eternal heaven and Eternal hell as literal places of final destiny, Revelations 19: 7; Luke 16:19-31; Matthew 25:33-34; John 14:1-3; Rev 7:15-17, 2 Peter 3:10.
  • In Water baptism by immersion as Jesus commanded, Mark 16:16; Matt 28:19-20; Acts 2:38-41; Acts 8:37-39; Romans 6:4.
  • In Restitution where stolen goods are returned to their rightful owners, Genesis 20:1-18; Genesis 32:9-32; Luke 19:8-10; Acts 24:16.
  • In the Lord’s Supper, practiced to remember His death until He returns, Luke 22: 14-19, Acts 2: 42, 46, 2 Peter 1:4, 1 Corinthians 11:26.
